TKD for Kids

A safe, structured and supportive place for children to learn Tae Kwon Do, build confidence, improve fitness and develop at their own pace.

Why Tae Kwon Do is good for children.

Tae Kwon Do gives children much more than exercise. It provides clear goals, positive challenges and an environment where progress comes through practice, patience and effort.

Confidence, focus & discipline

Learning new skills and working towards belts gives children something tangible to achieve. Along the way they learn to listen, concentrate, practise and keep trying when something is difficult.

  • Confidence in their own abilities.
  • Focus and concentration.
  • Self-discipline and perseverance.
  • Respect for instructors and other students.

Fitness, coordination & control

Tae Kwon Do develops balance, movement, flexibility and physical awareness. Just as importantly, children learn that martial arts skills require responsibility and control.

  • Fitness and coordination.
  • Balance and body awareness.
  • Self-control.
  • Resilience and steady progression.

Structure without pressure.

Discipline does not mean being frightened of getting something wrong.

A good Tae Kwon Do class gives children clear boundaries and expectations while allowing them to learn, make mistakes, ask questions and enjoy themselves.

They learn when to listen, when to practise and how to work alongside people of different ages and abilities. That combination of structure, encouragement and responsibility can be enormously valuable to a young person.

A positive place to grow.

Children progress at different speeds. The aim is to help each student improve from where they are now, rather than expecting everyone to be the same.

Clear goals

Belts, techniques and patterns give children achievable milestones and a reason to keep practising.

Positive routine

Regular classes provide structure, movement and a productive place to focus energy.

Steady confidence

Confidence grows naturally when children learn difficult skills, make progress and realise what they can do.

Safety & safeguarding.

Parents and carers place considerable trust in us when their children train at Corsham Tae Kwon Do. We take that responsibility seriously.

Corsham Tae Kwon Do is a TAGB club. The Tae Kwon-Do Association of Great Britain operates within the safeguarding framework of the British Taekwondo Council, the national governing body for Tae Kwon Do in the UK.

Instructor accreditation includes safeguarding requirements and appropriate checks, training and qualifications. Safeguarding is more than paperwork: it means maintaining appropriate standards of behaviour, putting children’s welfare first and making sure concerns can be raised and dealt with properly.
